exam officers forum
Hi
At the top of this page is the new open forum I've just set up for all UK college exam officers.
Why the need to chat to others when you have so many other important things to do?
Well simply I know from talking to many of you, that you often feel cut off and unrecognised in your own college. There are burning issues that you need to talk to other like minded individuals about - lets start with:
- That failing exam board (I don't even need to name it ) that’s causing you all that extra work
- Major increases in workload from government initiatives (key skills , A/S) - but guess what everyone else in the college seems to get staff - but never exams.
- Key skills options modular this and modular that but no tutor can understand but expects exam officers to be expert in
- Maybe you've been getting contradictory advice from exam boards - well probably some other exam officer out there has the answer.
- relationships with MIS departments - good or bad?
- exams software - does it do what your supplier tells you it does?
So this is about sharing expertise - and prejudices! This is like getting the exciting bit of an exams conference without having to hear all those boring speakers on the top table!
But how about this - there's no charge - all you have to do is click on the above address -
- log onto yahoo as a new user (not necessary if already a user )
- then get involved in the chat.
- If you've got a burning question then just leave it there and someone may know. .
I know some people have a struggle when they 1st log on to Yahoo - but when they persist they get their rewards.
You are in at the start and these Internet chat rooms are only successful if a few get it moving. Try logging on once or twice a week - from your office desk or from home - and just start chatting.
If this is going to be a success pass this on to other exam officers not on this list - this is open to any exam officer who wants to log onto yahoo - so I hope to meet you there soon.
